It takes some serious skills and major-league showmanship to provide the beat for one of the hottest stage shows in the world today. But that’s precisely what show-stopping Brooklyn native Nikki Glaspie brings to the table. In her duties as drummer for Beyoncé, Nikki is as adept at bringing jaw-dropping, high-voltage showmanship as she is at being a trend-setting rhythm technician. Ms. Glaspie is proud to endorse Zildjian Cymbals and Vater Drumsticks, and we’re extremely proud to say she’s added Hiptrix to the mix as her official FX backup.
Nikki has been playing drums since she was only two. Growing up playing in church alongside her mother on keyboards, she’d go on to study alongside the greats at The Berklee College of Music. Aside from her high-profile, world-traveling gig as the rhythm-master of Beyoncé’s unstoppable all-female band, Suga Mama, she’s also performed with Martin Luther, Supernatural, Ceelo, Pharoahe Monch, David "Fuze" Fiuczynski, Vernon Reid, Karl Denson, Viveca Hawkins, members of Ween, and many more. Nikki has also rocked almost all of the major notable North American television shows, conquered many of the largest arenas in the world, graced the cover of Modern Drummer Magazine, and in doing so, has helped usher in a new era of prominence and opportunity for female drummers the world over.
