Sacramento drummer Charlie McGimsey is a rock and blues specialist, a steady veteran who never fails to provide a solid source of refined rhythm both live and in sessions. Playing since the age of 12, he's seen action with an impressive handful of very well known and successful bands. An asset to any musical situation, Charlie has recorded on multiple major labels, and has performed and seen action with many household names. In particular, he’s cracked the Billboard Top 40 with Steel Breeze, been drummer for the one and only Tommy Tutone, and recorded with Probable Cause, The Michael Furlong Band, Pride in Peril, and four albums with Stoneground on Warner Brothers Records.
Charlie has also toured, performed, and shared the stage with artists like The Who, Sammy Hagar, Peter Frampton, Bo Diddley, Vixen, Jefferson Starship, REO Speedwagon, Eddie Money, Hall and Oates, Lynyrd Skynyrd,Night Ranger, Edgar Winter, and Huey Lewis and the News. He also appeared in the classic film "The Doors," and has recorded on various other notable albums and movie soundtrack projects. Charlie currently keeps a truly rockin’ touring and session schedule, including work as the drummer for various bands, including The Shane Teller Band, The Atomic Kings, and of course, Tommy Tutone.
